Reptile Habitat Temperature Calculator
Calculate the perfect temperature gradient for your reptile enclosure. Ensure optimal basking and cool zones for your scaly friend.
Reptile Temperature Requirements
| Species | Basking/Hot | Cool Side | Night |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leopard Gecko | 88-92F | 75-80F | 65-75F |
| Bearded Dragon | 100-110F | 80-85F | 65-75F |
| Ball Python | 88-92F | 76-80F | 72-78F |
| Crested Gecko | 78-82F | 72-75F | 65-72F |
| Chameleon | 85-90F | 72-78F | 62-68F |
Why is temperature gradient important?
Reptiles are ectothermic (cold-blooded) and MUST thermoregulate by moving between warm and cool zones. Without a proper gradient, they cannot digest food, fight infections, or maintain basic body functions. A single temperature throughout the enclosure is harmful.
